Irlean F. Houseman
Irlean F. Houseman, 91, of Sullivan, MO passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at the Life Care Center of Sullivan.
Irlean Frances Houseman was born on June 25, 1927 to Hobart and Mary (Vaughn) Heady in St. Louis, MO. She grew up and attended school in St. Louis. Later in her life, she met and married James Houseman. They married on June 1, 1974. James and Irlean lived in the Bourbon area as they raised their family. They loved to dance together through the years. After James retired from Crawford Electric in 1992, they spent their time travelling and being together. Irlean found great interest in jigsaw puzzles, reading, and taking care of her garden.
Irlean is survived by her girls: Barb Johnson and husband, Scott, and Jo Ann McCance and husband, Chris, all of Sullivan, MO; one son, Terry Welfenberg of Arizonia; two special nephews, Wayne Heady of Utah, and Bill Heady of Arizonia; one special niece, Sissy Woods of St. Louis, MO; four grandchildren: Shawn Jones and wife Tiffany of St. Louis, Melanie Ackland and husband Andrew of Sullivan, Chris Alan McCance of Bluffton, SC, James Johnson (Jessica Harness) of Sullivan; four great-great grandchildren: Austin & Cierra Bennett, Abigail Hawkins and Kayla Ackland; great nieces and nephews: Danny, Jimmy, Debbie and Donna; and numerous other relatives.
Irlean is preceded in death by her husband James Houseman; her parents; two brothers, Arthur Heady and Hermann Heady; a sister, Wilma Moss; and a nephew, Sonny Castro.
Memorial contributions may be made to Mercy Hospice.
Cremation will take place and a private family ceremony will be held at a later date.
