Herbert E. “Griz” Binsbacher, Jr., 82, of Gravois Mills, MO, formerly of Kansas City, MO, passed away on March 17, 2018. Born March 9, 1936, to Anna Binsbacher (Hamm) and Herbert E. Binsbacher, Sr., of Stanton, MO, where he later graduated from Sullivan High School in 1953. Herb joined the US. Army in 1956, continuing to serve for 31 years, retiring as a Chief Warrant Officer 4th class U.S. Army Reserve.

A life-long gunsmith, Herb was a 25-year veteran of the Kansas City Police Department with career emphasis in firearm and ballistic science, firearm instruction, marksmanship excellence, successfully representing the department in multiple local, state and national firearms competitions.

Herb loved his family deeply, lived an exceptionally full life, believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, and was a member of West Union Baptist Church. He is survived by two daughters, Mary Ann (Keith) Felts, Plattsburg, MO and Ruth Ann (Kevin) Kolb of Overland Park, KS; grandsons, Myron, Brandon, Reggie (Samantha) Felts; Scott (Crystal) Kolb, and great-granddaughter, Heidi Allene Kolb.

Funeral services with full military honors were held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, March 24, at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles. The family received friends from 11-11:30 a.m., Saturday, at the funeral home. Private family graveside services and interment will be held in Stanton Cemetery in Franklin County, Missouri.
