Gregory Lane Richardson, known to all as Greg, of St. Clair, MO, departed this life at his home, surrounded by the love of his family, on March 5, 2020, having reached the age of sixty-two years, six months and eighteen days.  Greg was born in Oakland City, IN, on August 13, 1957, son of Robert Vernon Richardson and Naomi Opal Richardson nee Roark.  As a young man, he was blessed to have one daughter.  On May 17, 1996, he was united in marriage to Connie Lynn West nee Cox and their families were joined as one.

Greg is survived by his wife, Connie Richardson of St. Clair, MO; by his mother, Naomi Richardson of St. Clair; by three children, Brittany Richardson of St. Clair, Adam West and wife, Ashley of Sullivan, MO and Kali Galloway and husband, Lee, of Erie, CO; by one brother, Vernon Richardson of St. Clair; by three grandchildren, Addison and Abram West of Sullivan and Layna Galloway of Erie; by one niece, Miranda Richardson of St. Clair; by brothers and sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.

Greg was preceded in death by his father, Robert V. Richardson.

Greg was a Christian, believing in the Lord as his Savior. During his working years, he was employed by Chrysler Daimler Corporation in Fenton, MO, retiring after about thirty years with the company. He was also a member and retiree of the United Auto Workers, Local 136 in Fenton, MO. Since his retirement, Greg had enjoyed many hobbies and interests. He was a member of the St. Clair Elk’s Lodge, 2651 in St. Clair and enjoyed the fellowship of his many friends there at the lodge.  He was an avid reader and enjoyed going boating with the family. Greg loved dogs and through the years had enjoyed the companionship of his dogs, Skeeter and Joe. He was happiest when he was spending time with his family around the pool or when he and Connie were taking a drive in his convertible. He always managed to keep busy doing projects around the house and was truly a family man at heart.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2020, at the St. Clair Elk’s Lodge in St. Clair, MO, with a service at 4 p.m. with the Rev. John Pursley officiating, followed by an Elk’s Service.  A private committal will take place at a later date.  

The family was served by Russell Colonial Funeral Home, St. Clair, MO. Memorials may be made to the Franklin County Humane Society or Elk’s Lodge 2651 or Mt. Hope Church, Sullivan, MO, or First Baptist Church in St. Clair, MO.
