Golden Miller, age 91, of Sullivan, MO, passed away Monday, October 29, 2018 at Meramec Nursing Center in Sullivan.

Golden Glenrose was born on April 20, 1927 in Bourbon, MO, to the late Charlie and Lenner (King) Payne. She attended school in Bourbon and moved to Sullivan at the age of 16. On October 9, 1943, Golden was united in marriage to the love of her life, Walter Miller. Golden and Walter were blessed with one son, Dewayne, who died at the age of 18 due to an automobile accident. When Golden’s sister passed away, she took in her niece, Hazel, and raised her as her own.  Golden was a devoted Christian and member of First Assembly of God in Sullivan.  

Golden is survived by her sister, Gladys Pennock of Sullivan; special niece, whom she raised as her own, Hazel Coffman of Louisiana; a host of nieces and nephews; two great-nephews who called her grandma, DeWayne and Robert Coffman; other relatives and many friends. 

Golden was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Miller; son, Dewayne Miller; parents, Charlie and Lenner (King) Payne; three brothers, Joseph, Herman and Edgar Payne; four sisters, Annie Ray, Opal Tourville, Kavel Sullivan and Virginia Bandy.

Funeral services were conducted 12 Noon, Thursday, November 1, 2018 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, with Pastor Erik Williams as the officiant. Interment followed in I.O.O.F. Memorial Cemetery in Sullivan.

Visitation was held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Thursday, at the Eaton Funeral Home.

All arrangements were under the care of the Eaton Funeral Home of Sullivan & Bourbon, MO.
