Gloriajean Fahrenkamp, 79, of Potosi, Missouri, passed away at Potosi Manor, surrounded by her family, on Thursday, May 21, 2020.

Gloriajean was born in Trinidad, Colorado, on January 18, 1941, to the late Robert and Jo Ann (Bunker) Herris. She grew up and attended school in California and graduated high school in 1959. Jean was also united in marriage to her first husband, Daniel O’Leary, in 1959 and to their union six children were born: Nancy, Timothy, Kelly, Tracy, Jeffrey and Colleen. They moved back to Missouri to raise their family; however, Jean and Daniel were later divorced. Jean worked as a secretary for St. Louis City Police for many years.

Jean was united in marriage to Wilbur Fahrenkamp on May 8, 1971. They moved to Sullivan in 1975, where Wilbur worked for Brown Shoe Factory and Jean worked for Wallis Oil and had some families that she would babysit for. They were both active in Bowling and Pool Leagues. Sometime after they both retired, Wilbur and Jean moved to Potosi to spend their final years. They were long-time members of Peace Lutheran Church. Jean was very creative and artistic and she enjoyed knitting and ceramics.

Jean is survived by her six children: Nancy O’Leary and husband, Rory, of St. Charles, MO, Timothy O’Leary and wife, Debbie, of Stafford County, VA, Kelly O’Leary of Kansas City, Tracy Reed and husband, Scott, of Potosi, MO, Jeffrey O’Leary and wife, Jodi, of Joy, IL, and Colleen Grills and husband, Dale, of St. Charles, MO; Wilbur’s children: Terry and Brian Fahrenkamp, both of Colorado; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur E. Fahrenkamp; and her parents, Robert and Jo Ann Herris.

Cremation arrangements have taken place. Jean’s cremains will be inurned in Jefferson Barrack’s National Cemetery, along with her husband, Wilbur, at a later date.

Memorial contributions in Jean’s memory may be made to the Diabetes Foundation and/or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
