Gloria J. Schatz
Gloria J. Schatz, 86, of Gerald, MO, passed away Thursday, June 8, 2017 at Meramec Nursing Center in Sullivan, MO.
Gloria Jean was born on October 30, 1930 in Rock Hill, MO, to Eugene W. Hofstetter and Alma S. (Walker) Hofstetter. Gloria grew up attending St. Mary Magdalen in Rock Hill, MO and St. Anthony in Sullivan, MO. She graduated from Sullivan High School in 1948. On June 15, 1957, Gloria was united in marriage to Leonard L. Schatz at the Mississippi courthouse. Gloria was a member of Holy Martyrs of Japan Church and the American Angus Association. She loved her Angus cattle, her Scottie dogs and sports.
Gloria will be missed deeply by her loved ones and friends.
Gloria is survived by her nephew, Rick Hofstetter and wife Jeanette of Sullivan, MO; one niece, Angela Bloomner and husband Darrel of Sullivan, MO; five great-nieces and nephews, Cassie Keethler and husband Devin, Robert Hofstetter, Veronica Bloomner, Miranda Hofstetter and Kearstin Hofstetter; one great-great-nephew, Ezra Bloomner; one brother, Eugene L. Hofstetter and wife Joan of Sullivan, MO; two stepsons, Lynn Schatz and wife Towananne and Gary Schatz and wife Rebecca.
Gloria is preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Lee Schatz; and her parents, Eugene W. Hofstetter and Alma S. Walker.
Memorials to the Holy Martyrs of Japan Church or the Compassus Hospice are appreciated.
