Gloria J. McCleary

Gloria J. McCleary, age 73, of Sullivan, MO, passed away on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at her home. 

Gloria Jean Bolin was born on April 12, 1945 in Springfield, MA, to Alfred Lee and Dorothy Marie (Dixon) Bolin. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Neal McCleary, Sr. on June 18, 1961 and four children were born to their union: Marcia, Tammy, Neal and Teresa. Gloria enjoyed a long career in cosmetology. The family traveled and lived in many different states, including Nebraska, Minnesota and Louisiana. Gloria was baptized at the Sullivan Christian Church in 1961. She had a love of gardening, traveling and reading her Bible. In 2012, Kenneth and Gloria joined Temple Baptist Church in Sullivan and they quickly fell in love with everyone there. 

Gloria is survived by her children: Tammy McCleary of Sullivan, Kenneth “Neal” McCleary, Jr. and his wife, Michele of Denham Springs, LA, and Teresa Emm of Sullivan; six grandchildren: Katie, Kenneth, Tyler, Jacob, Taylor and Chris; three brothers: Alfred Bolin of Leslie, Kenny Bolin and his wife, Linda of Knoxville, TN, and Kevin Bolin of St. Clair, MO; one sister, Paula Davis and her husband, Jerry of Dublin, Virginia; nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth N. McCleary, Sr.; her infant daughter, Marcia Lynn McCleary; her parents, Alfred and Dorothy (Dixon) Bolin; one sister, Gwenda Burks; and sister-in-law, Debbie Bolin. 

A Celebration of Life Gathering was held 12 p.m., Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Gloria’s home, 1012 N. Church Street, Sullivan, MO.  

Memorial Contributions may be given to the Parkinson or Epilepsy Foundation in Gloria’s name. 

All arrangements were under the care of the Eaton Funeral Home of Sullivan and Bourbon, MO. 

Gloria’s family appreciates Pastor Scott Perry for all of his help throughout her illness and Dr. Jennifer Barbin and assistant Shannon, Dr. Sylvia Awadallah and Dr. Lysette Alvarez for their support and love.
