Glen Eugene Ruble, Jr., 70, of Sullivan, MO, passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at the Missouri Veterans Home of St. James, MO.

Glen was born on June 22, 1947 in Sullivan, MO, to the late Glen E. Sr. and Helen (Fowler) Ruble. Glen grew up and attended Sullivan Schools. Private First-Class Ruble honorably served his country in the United States Army from December 8, 1966 to September 25, 1968. He was a vehicle driver and delivered ammunition during the Vietnam War; earning the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal and the Vietnam Commendation Medal. As a civilian, he was employed by Chrysler for thirty years and he was a barber. After meeting on a blind date, Glen was later united in marriage to Janice Eileen Ruble on February 14, 1970 in Potosi, MO. Of this union, one daughter was born, Angela Christine. Janice preceded Glen in death on January 27, 2015. Glen moved to the St. James Missouri Veterans Home on February 18, 2015 and it has been their honor and privilege to care for him. It is their wish to give him a final salute.

Glen was very involved with CCC’s and was the President of his local chapter. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, being outdoors on his 40 acres, traveling out west, St. Louis Cardinals, the Blues and other Missouri sports. He will be sadly missed by his family, friends, fellow veterans and staff at St. James Missouri Veterans Home.

Glen is survived by his daughter, Angie Ruble of Rolla, MO; one sister, Glenda Kay Denson and husband Don of Sullivan, MO; brother-in-law, Greg Lyons of Sullivan, MO; numerous nieces and nephews, his dog, Libby and grand-dogs, Jax and Jemma.

Glen was preceded in death by his wife, Janice Eileen Ruble and his parents, Glen E. Sr. and Helen (Fowler) Ruble.

Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m., Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at the Eaton Funeral Home Southside Chapel on Sappington Bridge Rd. with Pastor Randy Ruble officiating. Interment followed in Stanton Cemetery with military honors.

Visitation was held from 9-11 a.m., Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at the Eaton Funeral Home Southside Chapel on Sappington Bridge Rd.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Wounded Warrior Project.
