Gerald S. Fisher, Sr. of Sullivan, Missouri passed away Thursday, April 23, 2020 at the age of 89 at his home surrounded by his family.

Gerald was born December 8, 1931 in St. Louis, MO, to the late Philip and Marie (Heiner) Fisher. He was united in marriage to Florence H. Erxleben on August 27, 1949 in Pocahontas, Arkansas. To this union five children were born:  Gerald Jr., Ricky, Vicky, Terrie and Pam. Gerald worked for Alberici as a millwright for many years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. After he retired, Gerald enjoyed traveling with his wife. 

Gerald is survived by two sons, Gerald Fisher, Jr. and wife, Connie, of Piedmont, MO, and Ricky Fisher and wife, Sandy, of Leasburg, MO; three daughters:  Vicky Halmich and husband, Brent, of Japan, MO, Terrie Goodman and husband, Garry, of Leslie, MO, and Pam Sloan of Sullivan, MO; one brother, William Fisher and wife, Ann, of St. Peters, MO; sister-in-law, Martha Fisher of Muskogee, OK; brother-in-law, Sonny Erxleben and wife, Shirley, of Sunrise Beach, MO; 17 grandchildren:  Heather Beers, Jessica Jackson and husband, Mitch, Lori Williams and husband, Matt, Margaret Vaughn and husband, Nathan, Kristen Taylor, Ricky Hogan, Dana Evans, Sally Scott, Stacy Halmich, Shannon Fravell and fiancée, Melanie Monroe, Brian Gillespey, Jeffrey Goodman and wife, Danielle, Adam Fisher and wife, Crystal, Nathan Gillespey and wife, Isabella, Sherri Carson, Scott Fravell, Evan Halmich, and Samantha Sloan; 29 great-grandchildren:  Savannah, Isabella and Shaighly Kroder, Emma and Ella Vaughn, Kohl and Tanner Morris, Riley Frosch, Tanner and Dane Jackson, Aubree and Alee Williams, Evelyn, Nora and Amelia Goodman, Nevaeh and Bradley Taylor, Alyssa Gillespey, Aden Fisher, Aubriella and Maizie Gillespey, Jaden and Cali Boven, Chloe Carson, Hailee Fravell, Kaylee and Chase Monroe, Shya and Quade Evans; special caregivers, Rebecca and Beverly; nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence Fisher; his parents; one brother, Philip Fisher; and one sister, Eleanor Gagne.

Private Services will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 29, 2020 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan with Pastor Scott Perry officiating. Family and friends are encouraged to watch the service via Facebook livestream at www.facebook.com/eatonfuneralhome beginning at 10:50 a.m. Private burial will be held in Cave Spring Cemetery in Sullivan.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and/or United Way of Franklin County.
