Gary Lee Bartle, 67, passed away Jan. 20, 2021. He was born Jan. 28, 1953 in Washington, Missouri to George and Dorothy Bartle (nee Biery). Gary married Mary Joyce Hill Feb. 23, 1974.

He was preceded in death by his wife Mary, his parents, two sisters Wanda Roach and Kathy Bartle, brother Thomas Bartle, and granddaughter Madison Bartle. Survivors: son, Timothy Bartle and wife Heather (nee Hormann); son, Cory Bartle and wife Angie (nee Fore); son, Tom Bartle and wife Tricia (nee Berkbigler); daughter, Brandi Byrd (nee Bartle) and husband Justin; grandchildren: Brittany Bartle; Cameron Bartle, Raylee Bartle, Hannah Cox, Rhett Cox, Austin Bartle, Logan Bartle, Gage Bartle, Kendall Krause, Drew Bartle, Jenna Bartle, Seth Byrd; great-grandchildren: Bentley Eckenfels; Nolan Wilhelm; Maicie Bartle; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Gary was employed by Ramsey Corporation as a machine operator for 30 years and at Welded Construction as an oiler for pipeline construction in northern Missouri. He retired in 2015. In his younger years he loved to hunt, fish, drag race, ride motorcycles, play in softball leagues, coach his children in baseball and softball, float on the Meramec River and often went to the creek with his lifelong friend, Danny Parkins. Gary enjoyed watching his son, Tom, play music in the band Riverside at many gigs, playing golf, watching sports and attending his grandchildren’s sporting events. He was well known for his grilling expertise and cooking skills.

The Bartle home, where he resided from 1978-2008 on Louisiana Street in Sullivan, Missouri, was home to many neighborhood children and friends of the family. Gary was often called “Dad” by many of these children. There were many late night volleyball games held at the Bartle home. Gary always made time to talk to everyone and loved walking at Wal-Mart visiting with many friends.

Memorials can be made to the Madison Bartle Scholarship Fund through First State Community Bank (3 East Springfield Road, Sullivan, MO 63080).

Service: Visitation 9:30-12 p.m. Tuesday Jan. 26, 2021 at Eaton’s Funeral Home, 347 N Clark St #1507, Sullivan, MO. Graveside service followed at Pleasant Hill Cemetery (St. Louis Rock Road, Villa Ridge, MO). Gathering immediately followed at the Bartle home at 1082 Louisiana Street, Sullivan, MO.
