Fred R. Fife
Fred R. Fife, age 70, of Bourbon, MO, passed away on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, due to natural causes.
Fred was born in Waynesville, MO, on August 11, 1947, to Fred Robert Fife and Volla Mondy Fife. He attended elementary school in Leasburg, MO and high school in Bourbon, MO. Fred enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1967. In 1969, he married Cathy Johnson Fife and three children were born to this union. Fred worked for MoDOT for 30 years and then began a small used car business. He enjoyed meeting and helping people. Fred was a member of the Sullivan Church of Christ and was always eager to share his faith with others. Fred dearly loved spending time with his grandsons.
Fred is survived by his wife, Cathy Fife; one daughter, Elizabeth Scott and husband Gary of Rogersville, MO; two sons, Fred Fife IV and Jonathan Fife, both of Springfield, MO; two special grandsons, Andrew and Luke Scott; his in-laws, Gene and Geneva Johnson of Bourbon; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents, Fred R. Fife Sr. and Volla Fife Knight and brother, Jack Taylor.
Funeral Services were conducted 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, with Minister Tracy Ring officiating. Interment followed in Lea Cemetery in Leasburg, MO.
Visitation was held from 4-8 p.m., Monday, June 4, 2018 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan.
