Estel Daniel ‘Dan’ Kline

Estel Daniel Kline, known as “Dan” to family and friends, of Sullivan, MO, passed away at the age of 72 on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at the Life Care Center of Sullivan surrounded by loved ones.

Dan was born on August 24, 1945 into the loving home of Ray and Goldie Kline and was one of 8 children. Laughter and fun was guaranteed to all those who knew Dan. He held court at large family dinners where he shared funny stories from childhood, did hilarious impersonations and played jokes on his nieces and nephews. His hobbies included photography, videography and exploring local caves, as well as being an enthusiastic basketball fan. Known as a kind and compassionate person, he was always willing to help anyone in need. He worked at the Chrysler plant in Fenton, MO in the mid-1960s, the construction of pipelines as a laborer and was self-employed.

Dan is survived by three brothers and two sisters, Raymond Kline and wife, Marion, of Sullivan, MO, Dale Kline and wife, Elizabeth, of Sullivan, MO, David Kline and wife, Patricia, of Sullivan, MO, Mamie Susan (Kline) Irwin and husband, Roger, of St. Clair, MO, Florence Kline of Sullivan, MO, numerous nieces and nephews and long-time childhood friend Larry Blankenship.

Dan is preceded in death by his parents Jacob Raymond Kline and Golden Waneda (Phillips) Kline of Sullivan, MO, brother Donald John Kline of Sullivan, MO and sister Gloria Ruby (Kline) Smith of Sullivan, MO. The family will celebrate his life in a private service.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Mercy Hospice Memorial Fund at 1351 Jefferson, Ste. 206, Washington, MO 63090.
