Edgar Louis Falloon
Edgar L. Falloon, known as Louis, 94, of Bourbon, MO, passed away on Sunday, October 15, 2017 at the Missouri Veterans Home in St. James, MO.
Edgar was born on June 4, 1923 to the late Walter and Grace E. (Hardesty) Falloon in New Rock, MO. He grew up and honorably served his country in the United States Navy. On April 10, 1954, Louis was united in marriage to Dona M. Strauser at Temple Baptist Church in Sullivan, MO. Of this union, came their three children; Mark, Dawn and Eric. Louis worked for Meramec Mining Company for several years, he sold some insurance, worked as a maintenance man for Bourbon schools and was a Supervisor at Sheltered Industries. His love was baseball; he even tried out for the Cardinals Minor League Team. Due to family obligations, he came home and that is when he began farming. Louis was a member of Temple Baptist Church and he served as a Deacon for over thirty years. For fifty plus years, Louis was a member of the American Legion Post 81 in Bourbon, MO. In the early 2000’s, Louis was very involved in the Silver Olympics Games; he won many gold, silver and bronze metals. In 2003, on his 80th birthday, Louis went skydiving. In 2004, he went parasailing. On his 90th birthday, he went for a ride in a hot air balloon. Louis had many adventures and he will be missed dearly by his family and closest friends.
Louis is survived by three children, Mark Falloon and wife Susan of Sullivan, MO; Dawn Falloon of Sullivan, MO; Eric Falloon and wife Jennifer of San Antonio, TX; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Doris Condra of Columbia, MO; other relatives and friends.
Louis was preceded in death by his wife, Dona Mae (Strauser) Falloon, his parents, Walter and Grace (Hardesty) Falloon; five brothers, Ray Falloon, John Falloon, Ernest Falloon, Ralph Falloon and William Falloon; and four sisters, Ellen Ring, Lola Falloon, Reeta Schramm and Zeeta Falloon.
Funeral Services were conducted at 11 a.m., Thursday, October 19, 2017 at Temple Baptist Church in Sullivan, Missouri with Pastor Scott Perry officiating.
Visitation were held from 4:30-8 p.m., Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at Temple Baptist Church in Sullivan, Missouri & from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at Temple Baptist Church.
