Donald W. Mercer, Sr.

Donald “Wayne” Mercer, Sr., age 67, of Conway, AR, previously of Sullivan, MO, passed away on Thursday, April 26, 2018 in Conway, AR. 

Wayne was born on October 31, 1950 to John and Marie (Bridgeman) Mercer in Sullivan, MO. He was an avid guitar player and enjoyed music. He particularly liked the guitar style of Merle Travis and Chet Atkins. He also loved his family and cherished his grandchildren. 

He is survived by his three children, Melissa Gollaher of Sullivan, MO, Donnie Mercer of Van Buren, AR and Danny Mercer and wife Heidi of Houston, TX; six grandchildren, Brittany, Joshua, Jake, Zach, Ben and Hannah; five brothers, Junior Mercer and wife Teresa of Bourbon, MO, Bobby Mercer and wife Sarah of Sullivan, Glenn Mercer of Owensville, MO, Clifton Mercer of Cuba, MO and David Bridgeman and wife Anna Nelle of Potosi, MO; three sisters, Patsy Payne and husband Rick of Sullivan, Connie Baum and husband Harry of Kansas City, MO and Margaret Buckner and husband Leslie of Doniphan, MO; nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. 

Wayne was preceded in death by one stepson, Terry Parker; his parents, John and Marie (Bridgeman) Mercer; two brothers, Ronnie and Leroy Mercer and one sister, Carol Foster. 

A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 18, 2018 at Pea Ridge Pentecostal Church in Sullivan. A dinner for the family will be held following the service.
