Donald L. Reeves, 79, of Bourbon, MO, passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 in Welaka, FL.

Donald Laverne was born on August 8, 1938 to the late Raney E. Reeves, Sr. and Eva (Anderson) Reeves in Glover, MO. He grew up and attended school in Glover and at a young age began working with his father at the Saw Mill. At age 23, Donald was drafted into the United States Air Force. He honorably served our country for four years until his honorable discharge. Donald was united in marriage to Helen H. Dunlap on October 28, 1961 in Merced, CA. To their union, five children were born: Jeffrey, Cindy, Lonnie, Tracy and Britton. Don spent time working at McDonald Douglas, he ran fill stations, did some farming and built homes. He then purchased the Saw Mill in Bourbon and renamed it “Don Reeves Saw Mill.” He loved fishing and hunting, camping and traveling in the R.V., spending winters in Florida with Helen, time spent with family (family gatherings and reunions) and Cardinals baseball. Don will be missed dearly by his family and friends.

Donald is survived by his wife, Helen H. (Dunlap) Reeves of Bourbon, MO; two sons, Lonnie Reeves (Tammy) of Bourbon, MO and Britton Reeves of Bourbon, MO; one daughter, Tracy Reeves-Rousan of Bourbon, MO; three brothers, Joseph Palmer (Christine) of Guthrie, OK; Paul Reeves (Nell) of Washington, MO; and Rainey Reeves (Sharon) of WI; five grandchildren, Morgan Painter, Nicholas Reeves, Austin James Reeves, Zackery Reeves and Dakota Reeves; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Donald was preceded in death by two children, Jeffrey Reeves and Cindy Painter; his parents, Raney E. Reeves, Sr. and Eva (Anderson) Reeves; three brothers, Eugene Reeves, Vernon Reeves and Kenneth Reeves; three sisters, Kathleen Grady, Shirley Sauls and June Gerloff.

Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m., Friday, February 16, 2018 and 9-10 a.m., Saturday, February 17, 2018 at the Sullivan Family Worship Center.

Funeral Services were conducted 10 a.m., Saturday, February 17, 2018 at the Sullivan Family Worship Center with Pastor Duncan Skiles officiating. Interment followed in Bourbon Cemetery, Bourbon, MO.
