Donald E. Alexander, age 70, of Sullivan, MO, passed away on Sunday, December 23, 2018 at Missouri Baptist Hospital in Sullivan.

Donald Edward was born on April 2, 1948 in Sullivan, MO, to the late Clarence Edward and Bessie Lee Alexander. He grew up and attended school in Sullivan. Don also grew up attending Temple Baptist Church in Sullivan.  As a young man, he joined the United States Army and was a Vietnam vet. Donald and his first wife, Donna, were blessed with three daughters, Laura, Robin, and Peggy.  Don was later united in marriage to Betty Lou Breitbarth on December 31, 1988, in Illinois and gained a bonus daughter by marriage, Tonya, and two bonus sons, John and Dave.  Don worked various jobs, which included, Meramec Shoe Factory and Schatz Underground Cable.  Due to health complications, he retired in 1994.  Don was a great family man, loving father, and devoted grandfather.  He loved spending time with his family, babysitting his grandkids, and enjoyed fishing and boating. Don was a kind man, known to always have a smile on his face and he made friends with everyone he met. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.  

Donald is survived by his wife of 30 years, Betty L. Alexander of Sullivan; four daughters, Laura White of Doniphan, MO, Robin Hudson and husband, Dale, of Doniphan, MO, Peggy Keyes and husband, Leif, of New Florence, MO, and Tonya Tolliver and husband, Bill, of Sullivan; three sons, John Schoonveld and Katie Gorzik of Leasburg, MO, David Schoonveld and wife, Cathy, of Bourbon, MO, and Evan Paul of Leasburg, MO; four sisters, Trisha Madison and husband, James, of Bourbon, MO, Georgina McEuen and partner, Becky, of Sullivan, Sherry Champney of Sullivan, and Karen Visser and husband, Dale, of Tuscumbia, MO; two brothers, Bill Alexander of Akron, CO, and Clarence Purcell and wife, Bridgett, of Dixon, MO; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Edward and Bessie Lee (Barber) Alexander; one brother, Ralph Alexander; and one sister, Peggy (Alexander) Wiser.

Visitation was held from 10 a.m. to 12 Noon, Saturday, December 29, 2018 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan.

Funeral Services were then conducted 12 Noon, Saturday, December 29, 2018 at the Eaton Funeral Home, with Pastor Craig Tanner as the officiant. Burial followed in I.O.O.F. Memorial Cemetery in Sullivan.
