Diane Strothkamp
Diane Strothkamp, age 55, of Sullivan, MO, passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at her home, surrounded by her family.
Diane Elizabeth Rapp was born on December 2, 1963 in Sullivan, MO, the daughter of William H. Rapp, Sr. and Elizabeth C. (Meissbach) Rapp. She attended Sullivan School, where she was an Eaglette, a member of 4H and FFA. Diane graduated from Sullivan High School, Class of 1982. Diane was united in marriage to William Timlin on May 16, 1987 and they were blessed with two sons, Joseph and Jacob. William preceded Diane in death on March 15, 2003. On September 1, 2007, Diane was married to Wayne Strothkamp and she gained three stepchildren, John Wayne, Amanda and Audrey. Diane was employed by the Bank of Sullivan, Shop ‘n Save, as a manager, for ten years, R-15 School, in the lunch room, and lastly, at Lowe’s in Sullivan. She enjoyed cooking and canning the goods from her garden, deer hunting, fishing, and traveling with her family and friends. For Diane, the highlight of spring was going mushroom hunting. She bravely fought cancer to the end and will be remembered as an inspiration to all she met.
Diane is survived by her husband, J. Wayne Strothkamp of Sullivan, MO; two sons, Joseph Timlin of Columbia, MO, and Jacob Timlin of Sullivan, MO; three step children, John Wayne Strothkamp and wife, Hannah, Amanda Krone and husband, Chase, and Audrey Matthews and husband, Troy; her mother, Elizabeth (Meissbach) Rapp of Sullivan, MO; five grandchildren, Chelsey Mariani, Gus Krone, Tommy Krone, Harvey Matthews, and Clara Strothkamp; two brothers, Bill Rapp, Jr. and wife, Tanya, of Cuba, MO, and Tom Rapp and wife, Amy, of Sullivan, MO; three sisters, Jeanne Romanoskie and husband, Mike, of Sullivan, MO, Sandy Schmidt and husband, Danny, of Sullivan, MO, and Judy Derda and husband, Kreg, of Sullivan, MO; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ann Fisher and husband, Keith, of Rosebud, MO, Mike Strothkamp and wife, Debbie, of Sullivan, MO, Dale Strothkamp and wife, Kelly, of Sullivan, MO, and Bob Strothkamp and wife, Tracy, of Owensville, MO; two special sisters-in-law, Tanya Rapp and Ann Fisher; and one special friend, Alisa Brendel; nieces & nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Williams H. Rapp, Sr.; her first husband, William Timlin; and brother-in-law, Jim Strothkamp.
Funeral services were conducted 12 p.m., Saturday, March 16, 2019 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, with Pastor Lew Ensor as the officiant. Interment followed in Holy Martyrs Cemetery in Japan, MO.
Visitation was held from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., Saturday, at the Eaton Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions, in memory of Diane, may be made to the American Cancer Society.
