Desolee C. Parks – Hahn, 94, of Sullivan, Missouri passed away Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at Crystal Oaks Assisted Living in Festus, MO.

Desolee C. Castleberry was born on July 31, 1923 to Cecil and Romayne (Karns) Castleberry in St. Louis, MO. Her father’s employment moved the family around the country. Desolee graduated from Flat River High School. She was united in marriage to Earnest Edward Parks and one son, Joel, was born. The Parks family made their home in St. Louis for many years; however, they owned a cabin in Miramiguoa near the Meramec State Park.

After the death of Mr. Parks, Desolee made a permanent home at Miramiguoa and eventually met and married her second husband, Frank Hahn, who also preceded her in death. Desolee was employed by Blanton Oil for several years as a bookkeeper. She was an active member of Grace United Methodist Church, where she also served as treasurer. In her spare time, Desolee enjoyed gardening. In her later years, Mrs. Parks-Hahn was a resident at Dunsford Court and most recently at Crystal Oaks in Fetus, to be near her son, Joel.

Desolee is survived by her son, Joel Parks and wife, Mary, of Festus, MO; one granddaughter, Elizabeth Meier of St. Genevieve, MO; two great grandsons, Jacob and Lucas Meier; one sister, Janice George of Florissant, MO; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Desolee was preceded in death by her first husband, Earnest E. Parks; her second husband, Frank Hahn; her parents, Cecil and Romayne (Karns) Castleberry and one sister, Gwendolyn McCullough.

Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m., on Friday August 4, 2017 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan with Pastor John Davis officiating. Interment will follow in I.O.O.F. Memorial Cemetery, Sullivan, MO.

Visitation was held from 9-11 a.m., on Friday August 4, 2017 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, MO.
