Daniel Burt, Jr., age 70 of Union, MO, formerly of Sullivan, passed away Sunday, September 22, 2019 at his home.

Daniel Joseph Jr. was born on July 12, 1949 in St. Louis, MO, the son of Daniel Joseph Sr. and Leona (Woodcock) Burt. After high school, he honorably served his country in the United States Navy in Quadrant 11 P 3. After his service, Daniel attended college and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree. He was employed as a manager at R. F. Spaghetti Factory for a time; however, his great love was playing in the Rock and Roll Bands, Alias and Fire Penny. The band opened for other bands such as Fog Hat, Rare Earth, Rocky Mountain Daredevils, Mommas Pride and Little River Band. Daniel was also very artistic and was a talented painter. He will be missed by his family who loved him dearly.

Daniel is survived by his children, Amber Burt of Union, MO and Travis King of Bourbon, MO; his former wife, Janet Jansen; half-brother, Tracie Burt of St. Clair, MO; beloved nieces and nephews: Micah Machelette and wife Cindy, Lea Ann and Nate Machelette and Billy Machelette and wife Lisa; and other relatives and friends.

Daniel was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Nancy Machelette.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will take place Friday, October 18, 2019 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. with Military Honors to be performed at 4 p.m. According to Daniel’s wishes, cremation has taken place.

Arrangements were under the care of the Eaton Funeral Home and Cremation Center of Sullivan, MO.
