Cynthia Brown Rohrer
Cynthia Brown Rohrer, 67, of St. Louis, MO, formerly of Palmyra, MO, passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. Funeral Services were held at 10 a.m. Friday, November 10, at the Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel in Palmyra. Burial took place at Greenwood Cemetery in Palmyra, MO.
Visitation was from 9 a.m. until time of service Friday at the Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel.
Cynthia was born December 26, 1949, in Hannibal, MO, to Charles Franklin and Eleanor Griffith Brown.
She was married to J.D. Rohrer on June 28, 2014. He survives.
Other survivors include one stepson, Dr. Samuel Richard Rohrer (Alicia), Atlanta, GA; two brothers, Charles "Brownie" Brown II (Ann), Osage Beach, MO, and James "Jim" Brown (Michelle), Palmyra, MO; three nieces, Chris Germann (Jeff), St. Louis, MO; Lindsey Sells (Scotty), Columbia, MO; and Courtney Garavaglia (Matt), St. Louis, MO; one nephew, Tav Brown, Hannibal, MO; and five great nieces and nephews: Paige Sells, Parker Germann, Thatcher Sells, Olivia Garavaglia, and Brody Garavaglia.
Cynthia was preceded in death by her parents.
Cynthia was a graduate of the University of Missouri Columbia where she was a member of the Delta Gamma Sorority. She later earned her Master’s Degree. Professionally, she began her career as a school teacher and later worked in Healthcare Administration Management for many years. Cynthia was a longtime Board Member of M.G.M.A., a National Healthcare Management organization. After leaving healthcare, Cynthia became a very successful entrepreneur and business owner in St. Louis, MO, winning various awards including the Small Business Administration's Missouri Small Business Team of the Year, where she was honored at The White House. She was also a recipient of the Top 50 Women Business Owners Award.
Cynthia was involved in her community. She was a member of the National Association of Woman Business Owners and an active member of P.E.O. Her business supported various non-profit organizations through the years and she was very involved with the Alzheimer's Association and the Saint Louis University Mentor Program. Cynthia also maintained an ongoing relationship with the Delta Gamma Sorority.
Cynthia had a true love of travel. Trips to France, Greece and the Caribbean were favorites. She was a talented pianist and often played for family at Christmas. Cynthia’s four poodles: Chloe, Mimi, Monique and Mocha were part of her extended family. Most of all, Cynthia simply cherished the time she shared with family and friends.
Cynthia was a Christian by faith.
