Connie Ann Hughes (nee Watring) was born to Russell Watring and Ida Catherine Hoke on May 23, 1962 in Columbia, MO and departed this life on June 17, 2018 at the age of 56 years in Bourbon, MO.

Connie was a homemaker for many years; however, she worked as a waitress and cook at several restaurants in the area. She enjoyed cooking, cake decorating, canning with her daughters, swimming and sun bathing on the deck. She also enjoyed summer nights, campfires, roasting hotdogs and marshmallows and water fights with her grandchildren. Connie was a very caring, compassionate person, especially when it came to children. She welcomed many children into her home over the years, treating them as her own.

Connie was united in marriage to Gary Ivie in September 1977 and two daughters were born to this union. She later married Steve Hughes in October 1989 and to this union one son was born.

Connie is survived by her husband, Steve Hughes of Bourbon; daughters, Tricia Cobb and fiance' Jason Warren of Leasburg and Misty Bouse and husband Stephen of Bourbon; her mother, Catherine "Kitty" Adams of Bourbon; sister and caregiver, Linda Thompson of Bourbon, sisters, Carol Schmuke and husband John of Bourbon, and Donna Atchison of New Orleans, LA; brothers, Lee Watring and wife Marie of Bourbon and William "Billy" Watring of Leasburg; half-brothers, Russell "Rusty" Watring and wife Joanna of Sullivan, J.R. Watring and wife Tonya of St. James and Johnny Watring of Sullivan; grandchildren, Keegan Cobb, Chloe Cobb, Liam Warren, Cole Bouse and Chase Bouse; nieces and nephews, many friends and other relatives.

Connie was proceeded in death by her only son, Steven "Stevie" Hughes Jr.; her father, Russell Watring; step-father, James "Jim" Adams; brother, Robert "Bobby" Watring; brother-in-law, James "Jay" Thompson; and sister-in-law, Chris Watring.

Funeral services were conducted 10 a.m., Friday, June 22, 2018 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, with Pastor Ed Carter officiating. Interment will follow in Bourbon Cemetery, Bourbon MO.

Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m., Thursday, June 22, 2018 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan.

All arrangements were under the care of the Eaton Funeral Home of Sullivan and Bourbon, MO.
