Charles ‘Chuck’ Eaton

Charles Eaton was born December 31, 1934 to Herbert and Tessie Eaton in Steelville, MO. He passed away on July 6, 2017 in Agoura Hills, CA at the age of 82. He grew up in Bourbon, MO. with his four sisters: Lucille, Alice, Betty and Shirley. He graduated from Bourbon High School. After returning from his Army service, he met Janet Matthews who had come to teach school at Bourbon High School. They were married on August 27, 1960.

Charles went to work for ISTAR, who was revolutionizing the stock market by computerizing it. Charles was their 100th employee. ISTAR became Quotron and eventually other names, but Charles worked for them for 34 years before his health forced him to retire. After being District Manager of the St. Louis area office, Quotron relocated him to Southern California and in 1967 he brought his young family to the San Fernando Valley where they lived until moving to Agoura Hills in 1989.

Charles was one of those lucky people who loved his job in the computer field doing nationwide trouble shooting for Quotron where he was respected for his knowledge of computers, his dedication to his job, his teamwork, attitude and integrity.

His hobbies included square dancing and round dancing, in which he and Janet participated for 30 years. He also enjoyed camping with family and friends. For many years he loved playing chess and going to Las Vegas with his friend Tom. While his health permitted, he enjoyed traveling, visiting 18 countries and many states. He enjoyed playing bridge and other card games, doing crossword puzzles and going to his Grandson's baseball games. His greatest joy was being a grandfather and letting his Grandsons know how proud he was of their many accomplishments.

Charles will live on through his wife, Janet, daughter Cheri (and Dave) and his grandchildren David and Ethan. He was proceeded in death by his son, Chuck, his parents, Herb and Tessie and three sisters, Lucille Stephens, Alice Kragh and Betty Summers. He is also survived by one sister, Shirley Miller (and Roger) and numerous other relatives and friends.
