Carl L. Bandy
Carl L. Bandy, age 78, of Leslie, MO, passed away Friday, April 19, 2019 at his home, surrounded by his family.
Carl Leroy was born on January 17, 1941 in Leslie, MO, the son of Arvil Theodore and Pearl Edith (Bailey) Bandy. Carl attended Sullivan High School and honorably served his country in the United States Army from 1958 -1960 in the 101st Airborne Battalion 327th Infantry. On April 28, 1959, Carl was united in marriage to Patricia Ann Salmon and they were blessed with five children: Theresa, Ted, Tammy, Timothy and Travis. Carl was employed as an over the road truck driver for 20 plus years. He was self-employed in small engine repair, at his home, until ill health forced him to retire. Carl enjoyed farming, which is what he did most of his life. He also liked to hunt and fish. Carl will be missed by his family and many friends.
Carl is survived by his wife, Patricia Bandy of Leslie, MO; four children, Theresa Atchley and husband, Wayne, of Lubbock, TX, Carl “Ted” Bandy and fiancé, Tina Griffin, of Leslie, MO, Tammy Bandy and fiancé, Scott Vance, of Washington, MO, and Travis Bandy of Rosebud, MO; three grandchildren, Mark Atchley and wife, Shannon, of Lubbock, TX, Josh Atchley and wife, Naci, of College Station, TX, and Timothy Bandy of Spring Bluff, MO; six great-grandchildren, Austin, Ashton, Anzleigh, Abbey, Ceattle and Bristol; two sisters, Shirley Schmidt and husband, Neal, of Leslie, MO, and Judy Turilli and husband, L.B., of Wildwood, MO; nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by one son, Timothy Bandy; his parents, Arvil and Pearl (Bailey) Bandy; and two sisters, Edna Hoevelmann and Betty Holt.
Funeral services were conducted 10 a.m., Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, with Pastor Tom Rudloff as the officiant. Interment followed in Evergreen Cemetery in Leslie, MO.
Visitation for Carl Bandy was held from 5-8 p.m., on Monday, April 22, 2019 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan.
