Carl Alfred Bastecki

Carl A. Bastecki, 74, of Sullivan, MO, passed away on July 2, 2017 at his home.

Carl Alfred was born on March 18, 1943 to Alfred A. and Bernice (Ziecak) Bastecki in Chicago, IL. Carl honorably served his country in the United States Air Force for five years. He was united in marriage to Vicky M. Strauser on October 21, 1967 in St. Louis, MO. Carl was a diver for Taylor Diving and Salvage for many years. He later retired from the post office in 2009. Since then, he has enjoyed being retired while spending time with his family and his beloved dog, Peanut. Carl also loved to travel. He will be missed dearly by his family and closest friends.

Carl is survived by his wife of forty-nine years, Vicky M. (Strauser) Bastecki; three sons, Jay Arnold and wife Patti of Sullivan, MO; Michael Bastecki of Sullivan, MO and Chris Bastecki of Sullivan, MO; three grandchildren, Ashley Tucker and husband Jeremy of Sullivan, MO; Kyle Arnold of Sullivan, MO and Hailey Bastecki and Sullivan, MO; three great-grandchildren, Jayden, Kaleb and Blake; one brother, Art Bassett of Denver, CO; many other relatives and friends.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred A. and Bernice (Ziecak) Bastecki and one brother, Lonnie Hanna.

A Memorial service was conducted at 7 p.m., Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, MO.

Visitation was held from 4-7 p.m., Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, MO.
