Bonnie E. Bouse

Bonnie E. Bouse, age 95, of Bourbon, MO, passed away Sunday, March 15, 2020 at Life Care Center of Sullivan. 

Bonnie was born July 27, 1924 in Bourbon, MO, the daughter of Walter and Florence (Jones) Pennock. She grew up in Dowler Mill, just outside of Bourbon. Bonnie was united in marriage to Woodrow Bouse on April 8, 1945 at Bourbon. To this union, five children were born: Wanda, Virgil, Lois, Beverly and Sam.

Through the years, Bonnie and Woodrow lived at Anthonies Mill, near the Meramec River on Thickety Ford Road, and on the Sprinkle farm in Leasburg. However, after Woodrow’s passing in 1988, Bonnie made her way back to her original neighborhood and home place in Dowler Mill. Bonnie enjoyed quilting, sewing and seamstress work all through her life. She also enjoyed gardening and canning, flowers, cooking and spending time with her family. She will be lovingly remembered and missed by her family and friends.

Bonnie is survived by her children:  Wanda Burnett and husband, Marvin, of Sullivan, MO, Virgil Bouse and wife, Joan, of St. James, MO, Lois Woodcock and husband, Kenny, of Sullivan, MO, Beverly Bouse of Cuba, MO, and Sam Bouse of Cuba, MO; 15 grandchildren:  James Burnett, Paula May (Chuck), Craig Bouse (Suzanne), Cary Bouse (Heather), Chad Bouse (Amber), Cynthia Woodcock, Brent Woodcock, Tyler Woodcock (Lindsey), Torrey Woodcock (Megan), Scott Volner (Amy), Rachel Parker, Tammy Schmidt (Chris), William Powers, Jr., April Kennedy (Gil), and James Powers; 24 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; three brothers:  Ben Pennock of Steelville, MO, Paul Pennock and wife, Mildred, of East Peoria, IL, and Norbert Pennock and wife, Phyllis, of Bourbon, MO; one sister, Anita Schmidt and husband, Norman, of Bourbon, MO; one sister-in-law, Carmelita Pennock of Eldon, MO; and nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow L. Bouse; her parents, Walter and Florence (Jones) Pennock; one granddaughter, Rita Kaysinger; daughter-in-law, Eunice Bouse; and two brothers, Asa and Zane Pennock. 

Funeral services were 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, officiated by Pastor Derik Ruble. Interment followed in Bourbon Cemetery. 

Visitation was held 5-8 p.m., Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan.
