Beulah Gullet (nee Gedge), 92, formerly of Sullivan, MO, passed away peacefully Friday, September 29, 2017 at St. Clair Nursing Center in St. Clair, MO.
Beulah Theresa Gedge was born and raised in Te Kawa, New Zealand, the daughter of Charles and Laura (Jacobson) Gedge. She met her husband, Andrew Gullet, a US Marine, when he was there for rest and relaxation during WW II. They were married before he was shipped out again. She and their first daughter, Theresa (one-year-old at the time) later boarded an American ship and met him in San Diego, CA. They remained there until their second daughter, Sharon, was a year old and then moved to Missouri near Andrew’s home. She was a talented seamstress and loved sewing and quilting.
She is survived by her four children: Theresa Waterman (and her husband, Charles), Sharon Chilovich (and her husband, Michael), Andrew Scott Gullet (and his fiancée, Mary), and Eric Gullet (and his wife, Debbie); a sister, Chris Martensen; two granddaughters, Rachelle Parham (and her husband, Ken) and Marlene Abenekan; numerous other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew; her parents; three sisters: Esther Brough, Serena Maitland, and Cassia Summers; and three brothers: Kelvin Gedge, Nelson Gedge, and Lloyd Gedge.
Funeral Services were conducted 11 a.m., on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, MO. Burial will be at Jefferson Barracks Cemetery in St. Louis.
Visitation was held from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., on Wednesday, at the Eaton Funeral Home, Sullivan.
Memorial contributions may be given to the MRT Fund of Temple Baptist Church, Sullivan.
