Betty Holt

Betty Holt, 82 of Sullivan MO,passed away Thursday June 8, 2017 at Life Care Center in Sullivan, MO. Betty was born on February 2, 1935 in Leslie, MO to Arvil and Pearl (Bailey) Bandy.

Betty was married at a young age to her sweetheart Kenneth Holt of St. James, MO. They were married for 60 years. To this union 3 children were born.

Kenny (Vicky) Holt of Auburn, IN, Bandy (Kevin Witt) of Sullivan, MO, and Michal (Cindi) Holt of Auburn, IN. One adopted daughter, Judy (Gerald) Ramsey of Pendleton, OR.

Betty was proceeded in death by her husband Kenneth, her son Michal, her parents Arvil and Pearl Bandy, her sister Edna Hoevelman and brother-in-law Robert Hoevelman, nephew Timmy Bandy, and Baby Turilli.

Betty is survived by her children, 2 sisters, Shirley (Neil) Schmidt of Leslie, MO, Judy (Lester) Turilli of Wildwood, MO, and a brother, Carl (Patsy) Bandy of Leslie, MO, many nieces, one special niece, Terri (Danny) Craft of St. James, MO, and nephews.

Betty also had 9 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren whom she loved very much.

Betty gave her heart to the Lord at the Assembly of God Church in Bourbon, MO, at the age of 31. At the time of her death she served as the church secretary at Trinity Chapel in Leasburg, MO.

Betty worked as a server at the Flying J from the first day they opened until the day they closed. She made many friends there in the years as a server. Some very special friends were Pastor Ryan Martin and his precious family. Betty had a special home health care person, Evelyn Bryant, who cared for her and became a wonderful friend. Betty and Kenneth made their home in Bourbon for over 50 years. Only 8 weeks ago she sold her home and moved to Sullivan, MO.

As Betty chose to donate her body to Logan Chiropractic School of Medicine in Chesterfield, MO, there will be no service at this time. When her ashes are returned they will be put to rest with her beloved husband's ashes at Flag Springs Church Cemetery in St. James, MO.
