Bernice H. Dierking, age 82, of Sullivan, MO, passed away on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at her home.

Bernice Hutson was born on January 13, 1936 in Keysville, MO, to the late Santa and Rose Hutson. She grew up and attended school in Keysville, MO. Bernice began working at an early age. She was united in marriage to Ervin Dierking on September 28, 1974, and together, they raised her two children, Danny and Debra. They lived in Sullivan, where Bernice worked in local factories and was a homemaker. Bernice loved cooking and enjoyed making Christmas candy, especially divinity and fudge. She also enjoyed word search puzzles and watching tv. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends.

Bernice is survived by her husband, Ervin Dierking; one daughter, Debra Lynn Parkins of Sullivan; one son, Danny Lee Parkins and wife, Debbie, of Bourbon, MO; two granddaughters, Amy King and husband, DJ, of Bourbon, and Misty Parkins of Bourbon; two great grandchildren, Brett and Dakota Parkins; three sisters, Pat Ogle of Sullivan, Cecelia Ransom and husband, Sidney, of Steelville, MO, and Elizabeth Phenix of Steelville, MO; three brothers, Robert Hutson and wife, Mary, of Berryman, MO, Howard Hutson and wife, Marion, of Steelville, MO, and Rainey Hutson and wife, Brenda, of Cuba, MO; sister-in-law, Ina Bates and husband, Charlie of Sullivan; brother-in-law, Robert Dierking and wife, Kathy of St. Charles, MO; other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Santa and Rose (Oxendine) Hutson; three sisters, Grace Rogers, Edith Cornick, and Dovie Mae Conaway; father and  mother-in-law, George and Elise Dierking; sister-in-law, Gail Hutson; brothers-in-law, Eldo Dierking, Bob Phenix, and Richard Ogle.

Visitation was held from 4- 8 p.m., Tuesday, December 11, 2018 and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Wednesday, December 12, 2018, all at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan.

Funeral Services were conducted 1 p.m., Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, with Pastor Bob Cardwell as the officiant. Interment followed in Crow Cemetery in Sullivan.

Memorial contributions, in memory of Bernice, may be given to Mercy Hospice.
