Becky Blankenship

Becky Blankenship, age 74, of Sullivan, MO passed away on Sunday, July 8, 2018 at her home.

Rebecca Ann Parks was born on February 5, 1944 in Bonne Terre, MO to Earl Wilburn and Ruby Lee (Snyder) Parks. She attended grade school in Bonne Terre and graduated from Sullivan High School, class of 1962. She was united in marriage to Larry Dean Blankenship on September 16, 1967 in Sullivan and they were blessed with 50 wonderful years together. Becky was employed by Walmart for 23 years. She started off in the pharmacy and by the end of her career there, she was in shipping and receiving. In 2008, Larry and Becky sold their home and traveled in their R.V. up until this past fall. They were camp hosts at several State Parks in Missouri (Montauk State Park was Becky’s favorite). In 2015, Becky and Larry were awarded the Missouri State Park Camp host of the year. Becky was very crafty and enjoyed crocheting and painting. She was also an animal lover and enjoyed horseback riding and her many dogs. Becky and Larry were members of the Goldwing Club and for many years traveled to many destinations, including a trip to Yellowstone National Park.  

Becky is survived by her husband, Larry Blankenship of Sullivan; her son, Steven Blankenship and wife Lanise of Ozark, MO; two grandchildren, Jacob and Maeven Blankenship; two brothers, Randy Parks and wife Tina of Viburnum, MO and Kenny Parks and wife Debbie of Leslie, MO; nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends. 

She was preceded in death by her son, Brian Hulsey; parents, Earl W. and Ruby L. (Snyder) Parks; and an infant brother, Steven Earl Parks. 

Funeral services were conducted 7 p.m., Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan. Cremation followed. 

Visitation was held from 4-7 p.m., Wednesday, at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan. 

Memorials Contributions may be given to the American Liver Association.
