Ava Marcella Wood

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ava Marcella Wood (Springfield, MO), born in Marionville, MO, who passed away on August 11, 2019, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends.

She was predeceased by husband David Wood, her son Mark Wood and daughter Shirley Lucas. Also, her parents, George and Nona Young and several sisters and brothers.

She is survived by: three children, Noma Jean Rook (Bill Rook deceased son in law) of Georgia, Henry Lucas of Greenfield Indiana, Joe David Wood and wife Betty Ann Wood of Florissant, MO, Pok Im Wood of Clarksville TN, and Tommy Lee Wood and wife Lisa Ann Wood of Springfield.  She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren and 15 great- great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Friday, August 16 2019 at 4-7 p.m. in Peterson Funeral Chapel in Aurora, MO. A grave side service was held on Saturday, August 17 2019 at 10 a.m. at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Marionville MO.
