Audrey L. Happel, age 89, of Sullivan, MO, passed away on Thursday, October 25, 2018 at Evelyn’s House, a Hospice home, in Creve Coeur, MO.

Audrey Lorraine was born on December 29, 1928 in St. Louis, MO, to the late William A. Krause and Louise (Brussels) Krause. She grew up and attended school in St. Louis and graduated from Southwest High. Audrey married William S. Happel and they were blessed with four children. The Happels lived in St. Louis when Bill began his construction company.  In 1962, they moved to Stanton, to raise their family.  Through the years, Audrey helped Bill with the family business. In later years, they enjoyed wintering in Florida together. She loved her family and enjoyed having family gatherings at their home. Audrey attended St. Matthew Lutheran church since 1962. She will be lovingly remembered and missed by her family.

Audrey is survived by two daughters: Cheryl Douglas of Sullivan, and Shelley Fike of St. Louis; a son-in-law, Steve Hampton of Linn Creek, MO; eight grandchildren: Eric Douglas and wife, Carrie of St. Louis, Shannon Douglas and wife, Katie of Sullivan, Brittany Davis-Bray and husband, Broderick of Tucson, AZ, Nicholas Hampton and wife, Amber of Choctaw, OK, Daniel Hampton and fiancée, Sinthuja Suthanandan of Toronto, Ontario, Damian Knight and husband, William Ferrara of San Diego, CA, Kory Brown of Eureka, MO, and Randal Shearman and husband, Bradley of O’Fallon, MO; eleven great-grandchildren: Carter, Peyton, Taylor, Clayton, Nathan, Samantha, Zachary, Malex, Colbie, Brendan and Wyatt; and other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William S. Happel, Sr.; a son, William S. Happel, Jr.; a daughter, Lori Hampton; and her parents, William and Louise Krause.

Funeral Services were conducted 10, Monday, November 5, 2018 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Sullivan, with Pastor Lew Ensor as the officiant.  Interment followed in Stanton Cemetery.

Visitation was held from 2-6 p.m., Sunday, November 4, 2018 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan.

Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society and/or American Heart Association.
