Woman Receives Probation In Child Abduction

A Camdenton woman received five years of supervised probation after locking her then 6-year-old son in the crawlspace of an attic.

Aubrey Ferguson, 31, was sentenced Wednesday.

Ferguson did not have custody of her son, Braedence Jones. Following a visitation August 3, 2018, Jones went missing.

The father, Ryan Jones of Bourbon, filed a missing person report and an endangered person advisory followed in October 2018.

Ferguson and her boyfriend, Woodrow Ziegler, were arrested January 8, 2019.

Law enforcement made numerous attempts to locate Braedence Jones after reported sightings.

Braedence Jones and Ferguson were found in an attick, which had been nailed shut, then covered and blocked by furniture.

Charges have been filed against Ziegler in Camden and Laclede counties for hindering prosecution.
