Woman Found Dead At Franklin County Jail

Franklin County Sheriff Steven Pelton said a female inmnate was found dead at the adult detention center on Wednesday night.

Angela M. Cholett was found unresponsive in her cell area around 4:49 p.m.

Pelton said a deputy was serving evening meals to inmates. Cholett did not report to the door and another female went to her cell area to wake her.

The woman alerted deputies to an emergency. 

They entered the cell and found Cholett. An ambulance was called in, but Cholett was pronounced dead at the scene.

A cause of death is undetermined and an autopsy is underway.

Cholett is the second inmate to die at the jail in less than a month.

Amanda Duncan was found dead in her cell on July 31.
