Victim Attacked By Sword, Stabbed In Stomach

The Crawford County Sheriff’s Department responded to the 1800 block of Possum Hollow Road Sept. 22 to find a victim was attacked by a sword-wielding suspect and had their stomach sliced open.

Jacob D. Young, 32, Cuba, has been arrested and charged with first-degree assault. He’s being held on a $150,000 bond.

The victim was airlifted to a hospital with a severe laceration to the lower abdomen

According to the probable cause statement, the reporting party said Young “was acting strange.” The witness said Young had attempted to attack her and two other people, so they locked themselves in her car. She said she returned to the home and witnessed Young attack the victim with the sword. Young and the victim began to wrestle on the ground.

Another witness said Young “freaked out” and grabbed the sword, stabbing the victim. The homeowner also confirmed the accounts by the two other witnesses.
