Vehicle Pushed Into Woman On I-44

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said an Illinois man crashed into the back of a vehicle parked on the shoulder of Interstate 44 on July 4, pushing the vehicle forward and into a Sullivan woman.

Stephanie Shanahan, 28, was taken by Meramec Ambulance to Mercy Hospital in St. Louis to be treated for serious injuries.

According to the highway patrol, a 1999 Dodge Dakota driven by Alan R. Olge, 28, Sullivan was stopped on the shoulder at the 257 mile marker. 

A 2007 Chrysler PT Cruiser driven by Nicholas J. Meier, 37, Waterloo, Ill., failed to maintain the lane and his vehicle struck the Dodge Dakota.
