Vehicle Pursuit Leads To Arrest By Washington County, Highway Patrol

A suspect who led Sullivan Police and Franklin County deputies on a pursuit through Sullivan and into Washington County late Sunday night has landed St. Clair man, wanted on an active warrant, behind bars after being apprehended at gun point.

According to Sullivan Police, officers were on routine patrol when a vehicle was observed breaking traction in front of them and Franklin County deputies at Euclid and Elmont Road.

Authorities activated their emergency lights and attempted to stop the vehicle at 10:59 p.m., however the suspected driver, Travis L. Vanderbruegge, 29, St. Clair, operating a 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix, failed to yield to officers and led them on a pursuit from North Church Street to Springfield Road, east to Highway 185 South. The pursuit continued on Highway 185 South by Franklin County Deputies and Sullivan Police to the Washington County line.
