UPDATE: Robbery at Sullivan Wal-Mart And Washington Wal-Mart Leads To Arrest

Update: Warrants were issued on the male suspect, identified as Pablo Gonzalez a 30 year old homeless male for felony assault 2nd degree-special victim, 1st degree property damage and felony resisting arrest with bond set at $50,000 cash. The female suspect, identified as Emily N. Felton a 32 year old female from Springfield, Mo was charged with 2nd degree robbery and possession of a controlled substance with bond set at $20,000 cash. All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

 

Franklin County sheriff’s deputies and Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers arrested a man and woman early Thursday after the male subject allegedly committed an assault and robbery at the Sullivan Wal-Mart.

The man also allegedly stole items from the Washington Wal-Mart.

Deputies entered into a pursuit of the vehicle and a trooper took the suspect into custody following a chase on foot.

Charges are pending against the male suspect for assault on law enforcement, property damage and resisting arrest. 

Sullivan and Washington police will seek charges for the crimes in their jurisdictions.

According to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, the assault and robbery occurred at Sullivan Wal-Mart around 4:30 a.m. Deputies began checking the areas the suspect vehicle was traveling.

Around 5 a.m., deputies received another radio dispatch of stealing from Washington Wal-Mart with the same vehicle and occupant descriptions. 

With a deputy traveling north on Highway 47 near Washington, the suspect vehicle was observed. The deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop and a pursuit was initiated. 

The vehicle entered the Union city limits and the driver tried making a U-turn but was blocked. The driver ran into the patrol vehicle and went north on Highway 47, turning onto Clearview Road towards Highway A. 

The vehicle reached a dead end and tried turning around again, striking the patrol vehicle several more times. 

The deputy pushed the vehicle off the roadway, which made it inoperable. 

When the subject attempted to get out of the vehicle and was tased. The suspect then started complying with orders to exit the vehicle. As he got out, he ran past the deputy in another attempt to flee. 

A trooper on the scene gave chase and took the suspect down. 

The female suspect was taken into custody.
