Union Man Charged In Armed Robbery Of Bourbon Gas Station

Charges were filed late Monday against a Union man after he allegedly robbed a Bourbon gas station at gunpoint.

Mark Lusty, 25, faces one count of first-degree robbery, one count of armed criminal action and two counts of second-degree assault in the incident, which occurred late Sunday night.

Lusty was found and authorities seized evidence from a room he had at the Budget Inn. He is being held on a $250,000 bond.

According to the probable cause statement, two cashiers reported to Bourbon Police that Lusty entered the store, pulled out a gun and demanded money.

Lusty came behind the ground and ordered one of the cashiers to the ground with the gun pointed at her. Another cashier gave Lusty money. He allegedly threatened their lives if they called police and left the store.

Crawford County sheriff’s deputies, the Missouri State Highway Patrol and Sullivan Police were dispatched for assistance. Sullivan brought a K9 to be used for tracking the suspect.

Lusty was detained and placed into custody. Police searched his motel room and found a Co2 powered air pistol, mask, knife and the money that was stolen.

Lusty allegedly admitted to the crime while being Mirandized. He has previously been convicted of receiving stolen property and possession of a controlled substance. Lusty also faces third-degree assault and second-degree property damage charges in Phelps County and misdemeanor theft in Franklin County.
