Two Sullivan Teens Seriously Injured
Two Sullivan teens are recovering from serious injuries following a single vehicle accident June 11 on Elmont Road, three miles northwest of Sullivan.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred when Drake A. Hill, 17, Sullivan, operating a westbound 2012 Dodge Challenger, failed to negotiate a curve and lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle then crossed the centerline, traveled off the left side of the roadway and struck a ditch.
Hill, wearing a seatbelt, received serious injuries and was flown by ARCH Helicopter to Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, for treatment.
A passenger in the vehicle, Bode M. Janish, 15, Sullivan, wearing a seatbelt, received serious injuries and was transported by Missouri Baptist Ambulance to Missouri Baptist Hospital, Sullivan for treatment.
The patrol reported total damage to the vehicle.
