Two Gerald Residents Injured

Two Gerald residents were injured June 26 when the vehicle they were traveling in overturned on Highway C, north of Highway 50 in Franklin County.
Bruce E. Manson, 46, and Amanda M. Smith, 34, were traveling in a 1993 Ford F-250 when the vehicle traveled off the right side of the road, struck a mailbox, returned to the roadway and traveled off the left side.
The truck struck a fence, utility pole and overturned, leaving Smith with serious injuries. She was airlifted to Mercy Hospital in St. Louis.
Manson, the driver, had minor injuries and was taken to Mercy Hospital in Washington.
Neither occupant was wearing a seat belt.
