Tod Wins Fire Board Seat, School Board Seats Decided

Jordan Tod topped two other candidates to win a seat on the Sullivan Fire Protection District Board and two school boards were decided Tuesday in municipal elections.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Gov. Mike Parson moved the April 7 election to Tuesday.

Tod received 176 votes in Crawford, Franklin and Washington counties.

In Franklin County, he received 128 votes.

Danny Banning received 100 votes and Robert Mesger 78 votes in Franklin County.

Spring Bluff School Board

The Spring Bluff School Board was crowded, with five candidates running for three seats.

David Schatz was the top vote-getter, receiving 81 votes.

Bradley Newman received 72 and Jill Wagner 69. 

Melissa Herron had 63 votes and Kurtis Reed 38.

Strain-Japan

Caren Vogt was the only candidate to file for the Strain-Japan School Board, but a slew of write-in candidates filled the ballot.

Chasity Moss received 37 votes, Vogt 35 votes and Greg Stotler 31 for three three-year terms.

Krystal Hulsey received six write-in votes and Matt Juergens received three.

For a one-year term, Husley received 28 votes. Juergens and John Lechten each received one.

Sullivan

In the city of Sullivan, three alderman ran unopposed.

In Ward 1, Mark Dalton received 40 votes and there were three write-ins.

In Ward 2, Jason Alexander received 64 votes against one write-in.

In Ward 3, Paul McCullouch received 21 votes with one write-in.
