Three Ordinances Before Council Tuesday As New Board Was To Take Office

Although all incumbents ran unopposed in the April 2 municipal Eeection, the Sullivan City Council was scheduled to conduct old business with the existing Board of Alderman Tuesday night, April 16, in which payment of the monthly bills were to be paid totaling $1,231,081.45 followed by approval of the election results.

Once the council was sworn into office, they were to hear one request before them from the Meramec Community Fair Board for a temporary liquor license for the fair, followed by reports from Planning and Zoning along with Sullivan Regional Airport Board.

City Administrator J.T. Hardy was then scheduled to present one bid on the purchase of 44 utility poles from AECI, Little Rock, Arkansas in the amount of $9,561.20, with delivery in two weeks. Two other companies submitted bids that included: Baldwin Pole, Wiggins, Mississippi, for 48 posers in the amount of $11,424 and Bridgewell Resources, Dierks, Arkansas, 45 poles in the amount of $10,584.

The three bills proposed under ordinances included:

Bill 3840: Sponsored by Alderman Tony Wessler, if approved it would create a zero lot line subdivision by dividing one lot into two, located at the corner of Tessa Drive and Nicole Court which address is 701 and 703 Tessa Drive. The property is owned by Aaron Funke and is currently zoned R-2;

Bill 3841: Sponsored by Wessler, it would create a zero lot line subdivision by dividing one lot into two, located at 716 and 718 Tessa Drive The property is owned by Franklin Financial Corporation and is currently zoned R-2;

Bill 3842: Sponsored Wessler, would it approve a resubdivision of Watson Acres located at 950 Watson Road This resubdivision would create three lots from the existing two lots currently zoned R-2 and owned by Thomas and Rachel Andreasson.

The council did have closed session posted for real estate, litigation and personnel.
