Three Bids One Ordinance Before Council Tuesday

The Sullivan City Council was scheduled to hold their second meeting for July on Tuesday, July 21, with three bid matters before the council, one ordinance and payment of the monthly bills for $1,745,542.58.

City Administrator J.T. Hardy was scheduled to present bids for Electric Department, articulating TelescopiscAerial Device, Water and Sewer Department, Springfield Avenue Water Line Relocation Material Bid, and Parks and Recreation, Skating Rink Floor bid.

The Electric Department Telescopic aerial divide bid is through a cooperative purchasing agreement with a cost of $114,525, with $150,000 budgeted. The device would be purchased from Sourcewell/Altec Industries.

Hardy was scheduled to report five bids received for the Springfield Avenue Water Line Relocation materials project.

The bids were as follows: Butler Supply, Sullivan, $28,629.46; Core & Main, St. Louis, $22,764.47; Shulte Supply, Edwardsville, Ill., $24,934; Harry Cooper Supply, Springfield, $23,377.87 and IMCO Utility Supply, St. Louis, $23,341.60.

Staff is recommending the council approve the bid from Core & Main in the amount of $22,764.47.

Two bids were submitted for the Sullivan Skating Rink floor replacement with Floor Systems Inc. Fort Wayne Ind., $42,890 for a fan type patter; and Eurocraft Hardwood Floors, Labadie, Mo., $68,710.

Staff is recommending the council approve the bid from Floor Systems Inc., for $42,890. The city received a floor replacement check form their insurance career due to a storm that damaged the skating rink for $43,984.11.

The payment of the monthly bills was expected to be approved in the amount of $1,745,542.58. It includes $471,050.57 to MPAU Power for June 2020 electric supply; $22,175.22 to Oak Grove Village for their share of Was-Mart Sales Tax Revenue; $46,773.63 for UMB Bank payment 149 on the wastewater treatment plant and $26,542.38 to UMB Bank for Series 2002B-sewer walker fields area bonds.

One ordinance was before the council, Ord. 3889, that would approve a 15-day contract with NB West, Sullivan, for the 2020 Nova Chip program for $202,372.20.

The council did have closed session posted for real estate, litigation and personnel.
