Three Arrested During SWAT Raid In St. Clair

The Franklin County SWAT team arrested three July 11 at a St. Clair residence.

Brian Ashburn, 45; Cheyanne West, 23, and Walter Stahlman, 20, had warrants for their arrests. The Franklin County Sheriff's Office responded to the 2000 block of Sycamore Lane in St. Clair to serve a warrant on Ashburn, who was wanted for two counts of felony driving while intoxicated. Two men were outside the residence when deputies arrived and one fled into the home while the other complied with requests.

The subject stated he did not know the man he was speaking to and he had just arrived at the residence. A perimeter was set up and verbal communication began to have the occupants exit the resdience. Four other subjects exited, but none were Ashburn.

The homeowner said there were several more people inside but she could not name them all. The SWAT team was then called in to assist. Four more subjects were found in the residence, including Ashburn. Ashburn was taken into custody, along with West and Stahlman.
