Thieves Steal Truck, Then Ram Door Stealing Dirt Bikes

Two brazen thieves are being sought by Sullivan Police after they allegedly appropriated a Ford truck from Schmidt Auto Sales, 750 South Service Road early Sunday, December 1, at then used the truck to ram the front door at Coffman Cycles & ATV, 1382 South Service Road West, moments later.

Sullivan Police received a call from a security company early Sunday morning, that a front door alarm was sounding and motion detected inside Coffman Cycle at 5:58 a.m.

Sullivan Police arrived within two minutes of receiving the alarm from the alarm company and found the front window glass to the business broken out.

Authorities reviewed the video from the business and determined that a white, 2005 Ford F-250 regular cab with FX4 trim package and LED fog lights rammed the door to the business and two suspected individuals appropriated a 2015 blue and white Yamaha dirt bike and a 2016 orange and black KTM bike.

Police believed that there was damage to the tailgate of the ford truck and also a second suspect vehicle was identified as a four-door passenger vehicle.

The video from the business, which can be viewed on the company Facebook page or on the Sullivan Independent News Facebook page, shows the suspects stealing the dirt bikes one of which is pushed to the side of an adjacent building and the other to the side of the Ford truck.

On Sunday at 9:40 a.m., Schmidt Auto reported to Sullivan Police that the Ford truck in the video at Coffman Cycle was stolen from their dealership. The vehicle had the driver’s side window broken out of the business.

The truck was valued at $7,000 and the value on the dirt bikes was not available at press time.

Sullivan Police were working multiple investigations Sunday and Monday on this case and at press time had no new details to release.
