Sullivan Woman Drags Officer With Vehicle, Charged With Assault
A Sullivan officer was dragged a short distance after getting his hand stuck in a door handle of a motor vehicle while trying to apprehend a domestic violence suspect.
Carrie J. Schultz, 37, Sullivan, has been charged with third-degree assault of a law enforcement officer, second-degree domestic assault and resisting arrest for a felony. Bond was set at $25,000.
Officers responded Sunday at 10:30 a.m. to 1660 Elmont Road for a report of domestic violence. The victim said Schultz had just assaulted him in the residence and then assaulted him with her car as she left the area.
