Sullivan Teen Struck On Interstate 44

According to sources, Thomas had been in an accident where his truck sustained total damage moments before this incident. It is believed he exited the vehicle after suffering severe head injuries, which resulted in the reported incident occurring.

The Sullivan Independent News has reached out to the Missouri State Highway Patrol for more details and is awaiting an answer.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said a Sullivan teen is seriously injured after being struck by a tractor-trailer on Monday.

John C. Thomas, 19, walked into the path of a 2020 Freightliner Conventional being operated by James Wilson, 44, Princeton, Ky.

Thomas was struck westbound at the 236 mile-marker.

He was taken to Mercy Hospital in St. Louis by St. Clair EMS.
