Sullivan School District Responds Following Social Media Threat

Sullivan High School Principal Jennifer Schmidt said late Wednesday night a social media threat warning of a school shooting at “SHS” was a hoax and not targeted at Sullivan.

The threat made its rounds through social media, with school districts across the country checking into it.

Schmidt said Sullivan Police were alerted and thanked everyone who alerted administrators to the threat.

The post was written by “Ray Andres” and said “I will not being (sic) telling people what my name is, but I will bring a gun to school Tomorrow, so be prepared to hear shoots (sic).”

“Andres” followed up by saying, “Yes SHS is the school I want”

Law enforcement agencies around the country responded. The Sayre Borough Police Department in Sayre Borough, Pa., reported the “SHS” was Springfield High School in Springfield, Ohio.
