Sullivan Residents Injured In Accident

Two Sullivan residents received minor injuries following a two-vehicle accident Jan. 26 on eastbound Highway 50, just east of Highway 185 North.

The accident occurred when James R. Orton, 48, Leasburg, operating a westbound 2013 Ford F-250, attempted to make a left turn and failed to yield to an eastbound 2012 Chevrolet Sonic, driven by Krystal D. Rapps, 30, Sullivan. The front corner of the Rapps vehicle then struck the right corner of the Orton vehicle.

Injured in the Orton vehicle was a passenger, Kyana S. Jones, 4, Sullivan, with minor injuries; while Rapps and a passenger, Diann L. Lettmann, 55, Owensville, each received minor injuries. All three were transported by Gerald Ambulance to Mercy Hospital, Washington, for treatment.

The Rapps vehicle sustained extensive damages while the Orton vehicle received minor damage.

All parties involved were wearing their seatbelts.
