Sullivan Man Arrested Following Vehicle Pursuit

A 44-year-old Sullivan man was arrested New Year’s Day, following a short vehicle pursuit on Highway 185 South at 12:53 a.m.
Sullivan Police attempted to make a traffic stop on a southbound 2006 Hyundai, in the city limits of Sullivan, when the vehicle fled officers but was later stopped near the Highway 185 South Spur.
Sullivan Police arrested Michael S. Evans, 44, for alleged resisting arrest by fleeing, possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, driving while intoxicated and exceeding the speed limit.
Evans was held in the Sullivan Jail and later released on a court summons for a portion of the charges while others were being forwarded to the Franklin County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for pending charges.
